Who are veneers suitable for?
Veneers are suitable for patients who want an even smile without lengthy treatment.
We use veneers in Zurich to correct minor misaligned teeth, cracks in tooth enamel, damaged edges, discoloration and minimal gaps between teeth, for example.
Treatment with veneers should not be carried out in the case of untreated caries, gum inflammation, large fillings or if you suffer from nail biting or teeth grinding.
How long does the treatment take?
A preparatory appointment is necessary before the tooth enhancement, during which we lightly grind the teeth and take impressions of your teeth. The application then takes about 30 minutes per tooth.

Is the application of veneers painful?
Dental veneers are not painful for you. To apply veneers, the enamel needs to be ground down slightly, but you should hardly feel this. We are happy to administer a light local anesthetic on request.
What should I look out for after the treatment?
After tooth beautification, there is little you need to do. You should ensure thorough dental care and not use coarse toothpaste. If you tend to grind your teeth, you should wear a grinding splint overnight after the veneers.
Can the veneers become discolored?
Veneers are made of insensitive ceramic that hardly discolors. However, strongly staining foods or nicotine can leave deposits on the adhesive joints over time. We recommend that you avoid such foods and have your teeth professionally cleaned on a regular basis.
Can side effects occur during application?
Side effects are very rare with veneers. To apply veneers, the tooth enamel must be slightly abraded, but this should not cause any discomfort if done correctly.
The ceramic used is highly biocompatible. Incompatibilities are therefore not to be expected. In rare cases, the veneers can break or fall off, for example due to teeth grinding or hard food. In this case, they can be easily repaired in Zurich.
